Overwatch Open regional finals groups finally released!

More details about the Overwatch Open regional finals are available now. ELEAGUE is letting the community know what the next stage is going to look like. The $300,000 USD tournament is getting closer to its end and we could not be more excited about the next matches! The regional finals will take place in Atlanta, Georgia, from September 25 to 30th. Keep in mind that the tickets are available already.

The 16 teams that are going to participate in the event are going to be divided in 2 regions: NA and EU. Each region, obviously, will have 8 teams to compete against each other. Also, each region is divided in 2 groups, Group A and Group B.

This means that teams are divided into NA Group A, NA Group B, EU Group A and EU Group B. Matches are double elimination with a best of 3 format. Only the top 2 teams from each group will advance to the Overwatch Open regional playoffs. Playoffs will be single elimination, best of 5.

Then, the main event. The Overwatch Open regional finals between the champions of both regional playoffs!

The groups are looking like this:

NA – Group A

  • EnVyUs
  • NRG
  • Team Liquid
  • Splyce

NA – Group B

  • Cloud 9
  • Fnatic
  • Immortals
  • Method

EU – Group A

  • Ninjas in Pyjamas
  • FaZe Clan
  • Team Dignitas

EU – Group B

  • Rogue
  • Misfits
  • Luminosity Gaming
  • ANOX

Groups are pretty interesting, specially the EU groups. It is worth noting that it seems like EU is taking the lead in terms of competitive teams. This, considering how the 8 EU teams are around the same overall skill level.

Without a doubt, the Overwatch Open regional finals are going to be crazy fun. Also, if you want to reserve some tickets, you can check that out here: Overwatch Open Atlanta tickets.
